GLS Spain strengthens its regional presence with new hub in A Coruña

The company takes a step forward in its growth strategy in Galicia, with forecasts of reaching a processing capacity of up to 12,000 parcels per day, thus reinforcing its commitment to a faster and more efficient service.

A Coruña, August 26, 2025 - GLS Spain is strengthening its presence in Galicia with the opening of a new hub in Sada (A Coruña), a strategic location due to its proximity to the region’s main urban centers and transport routes. This new logistics center aims to optimize parcel services in Galicia and surrounding areas, enhancing operational capacity and ensuring faster and more efficient delivery times.

Strategically located at kilometer 583 of the N-VI, in the municipality of A Coruña, the new logistics facility benefits from excellent connectivity. Its immediate proximity to the A-6 —one of the main transport arteries in the northwest of Spain— ensures swift and efficient access both inland and along the coast. In addition, its location provides direct connections to the main routes linking nearby cities, making it a privileged logistics hub for both regional and national distribution.

“The opening of this new facility strengthens our network in a strategic location, allowing us to enhance operational capacity, optimize distribution times, and continue providing fast, high-quality service, always with a strong commitment to local development,” said Daniel Arjones, North-Division Manager of GLS Spain.

A commitment to technology and efficiency.

With a surface area of 2,500 m², the new center is consolidated as a strategic hub within the GLS Spain logistics network. It is equipped with powered roller conveyors and has the capacity to process up to 12,000 parcels per day, both for outbound and inbound operations.

The facility includes a feed line, sorting areas with manual exits, and space to simultaneously handle 5 trailers, 30 internal vans, and 20 external vans, thus optimizing distribution and last-mile operations.

The hub also incorporates a specially designed hydraulic platform to operate in locations where conventional solutions cannot be installed. This system enables the use of four concrete loading docks, ensuring safe loading and unloading operations.

In addition, the design anticipates the future installation of electric charging points, in line with GLS Spain’s commitment to more sustainable logistics.
