How to file a claim

Filing a claim is simple. Follow these steps and we'll take care of the rest.

Step 1: Gather your information

Having everything on hand helps us assist you faster. Here's what you'll need:

  • Shipper's email address and phone number
  • Account number and tracking number
  • Pickup date, delivery date, and both pickup and delivery addresses
  • Reason for claim and a description of package contents
  • Photos of the damaged item(s) from multiple angles
  • Photos of internal packaging (bubble wrap, peanuts, dividers, etc.)
  • Photos of the exterior packaging from multiple angles
  • Supporting documents to substantiate the original purchase and/ replacement costs of the contents such as an invoice or receipt

Step 2: Log in to GLS® Connect

Access the claims section of GLS Connect and select "File a new claim" to get started.

Step 3: Tell us what happened

Fill out the form and upload the required supporting documentation (each file cannot exceed 5MB). Once submitted, you’ll receive confirmation by email. We will review and respond as quickly as possible.

Prevent damage before it happens

A little preparation goes a long way. Our GLS packaging guidelines provide simple steps to protect your shipments and reduce the risk of damage or loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Claims must be filed by the shipper—the person or company who originally sent the package.

You have up to 90 days from when you originally shipped your package to file a claim.

Log in to GLS Connect and enter your claim one package at a time. Have multiple claims to file? No problem, contact us at claims@gls-us.com and we'll walk you through the best way to handle that.

We take a close look at the information you've provided and review it against our policies. Our goal is to give your claim the thorough attention it deserves.

We work to resolve claims within 45 days. We know you're waiting to hear back, and we appreciate your patience.

Depending on how your account is set up, you'll either see a credit on your next invoice or receive a check by mail in about two weeks. Please note, if it is a credit, you will need to let our claims team know when you would like the credit applied.
