GLS Spain Strengthens Its Fulfilment Operations with a New Facility in Madrid

Madrid, July 2, 2025 – GLS Spain is reinforcing its growth plan with the opening of a new Fulfilment solutions facility in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid). GLS Fulfilment offers logistics management services for product stock, warehousing, picking & packing, and distribution, with the strategic aim of consolidating business expansion and ensuring the operational continuity of GLS Spain.

Located in the Los Almendros industrial area in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), the new GLS Spain Fulfilment logistics center benefits from a strategic location with direct access to the A-2 and M-50 highways. This facility will centralize the operational capacity currently covered by the GLS Spain centers in Coberteras and Fuentemar, thereby offering a modern service aligned with the company’s quality standards.

GLS Fulfilment in Spain will be led by Juan Sandes, Senior Manager Strategy, Out Of Home and Fulfilment at GLS Spain. This expanding business vertical marks a new chapter for the company in terms of increased service capacity and infrastructure, as well as the provision of new resources and the implementation of advanced logistics processes.

“The opening of this new facility strengthens GLS Spain’s position in the development of Fulfilment solutions, enabling us to respond to the growing demand from companies needing comprehensive logistics outsourcing. It gives us greater capacity and operational efficiency, strategically positioning the company as a sector benchmark,” said Juan Sandes, Senior Manager Strategy, Out Of Home and Fulfilment at GLS Spain.

Fulfilment as a Key Solution in the Logistics Process

With a total area of 11,136 m² and 432 m² of office space, this new GLS Spain project features a progressive implementation model. In this first phase, 4,993 m² will be occupied, adapted to current storage needs, with the possibility of gradual expansion as the business evolves. This scalable solution allows GLS Spain to anticipate future logistics demands and ensure continued operations, with available extra space and even potential expansion into adjacent modules. In this regard, GLS Spain is building a solid, efficient, and customer-oriented Fulfilment platform.

The facility includes five trailer docks, a van access ramp, and a series of optimized entry points for industrial vehicles, private cars, and pedestrians. Furthermore, GLS Spain strengthens its commitment to sustainability by providing two charging points for electric vehicles, installing solar panels, rooftop photovoltaic panels, and incorporating a biophilic design that integrates natural elements into the logistics center.

This new Fulfilment complex features a full range of services for employees and advanced technical operations. In line with GLS Spain’s commitment to well-being and operational efficiency, the site includes two floors of office space with 13 open-plan workstations, a data processing center (DPC), designated rest areas for drivers, internal truck parking, and charging points for electric forklifts.
